‘Gifu University JDP Consortium Bamboo Resources Workshop’ opens

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Glocalization Promotion Division of the Gifu University Organization for Promotion of Glocalization (GU-GLOCAL) held a 'Gifu University JDP Consortium Bamboo Resources Workshop.'

This workshop was conducted online with the goal of sharing the most up-to-date information on bamboo resource utilization in India and fostering collaboration among consortium members and relevant organizations. The workshop specifically emphasized the latest trends in bamboo resource utilization within India, as well as insights into Indian businesses. It served as a follow-up to the discussions held during the 'Japan-NER2 Bioeconomic Technology Cooperation Symposium 2024 through Industry-Academia under JDP Platform' ('JNBTCS 2024') held at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG, India) from Sunday, March 3 to Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

During the workshop, experts engaged in discussions about the current status and challenges faced by Japanese companies' entering the Indian market. Subsequently, participants exchanged views on six topics related to bamboo resource utilization. A total of 46 individuals attended the workshop. Among the participating companies were Japanese firms that had also attended JNBTCS 2024, as well as Indian companies actively involved in bamboo resource utilization discussions with Gifu University. The workshop served as an opportunity to share the latest information on bamboo resource utilization in India.

The Glocalization Promotion Division of GU-GLOCAL supports the advancement of employment opportunities for glocal (global+local) talents and accelerate international cooperation between the regional and industrial sectors.
