Tanabata Star Festival Lounge Party

The event was planned and held by Japanese student lounge tutors themselves. International students including summer school program participants were invited to take part in the party and wrote their wishes on small strips of ‘tanzaku’ paper.
New Year’s Lounge Event –Japanese Traditional New Year’s Games-

International students, Japanese student lounge tutors and students experienced together different traditional Japanese New Year’s games such as karuta card game, fukuwarai similar to “pin the tail on the donkey,” spinning koma top, kendama (a classic cup and ball game) and kakizome (the first calligraphy written at the beginning of the year). Participants also enjoyed listening to the guitar performance and songs by students.
