On Saturday, March 25, 2023, the Degree Awarding Ceremony for AY 2022 Joint Degree Programs (JDP) graduates (master's program; International Joint Department of Food Science and Technology between Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) and Gifu University) was held.

Gifu University has been operating four International JDPs with IITG and the National University of Malaysia (UKM) from 2019. The graduating students are the third cohort for the master's program between IITG and GU.

The ceremony was conducted both on-and offline with the attendance of JDP chairs and coordinators from the relevant faculties from GU and IITG. First, Professor MITSUNAGA Tohru, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology handed Mr. ITO Ryotaro the "Alumni President Commendation Certificate" for his excellent academic performance. It was followed by Professor NISHIZU Takahisa, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences and program chair from Gifu, presenting the degrees to the three graduating students.

Congratulatory messages were given from Professor Nishizu, Professor Kaustubha Mohanty (chair from IITG) and Professor Chandan Das (coordinator from IITG) to the students. They honored their strong determinations to complete the course and expressed their expectations for a long-term relationship between Indian and Japan.
