On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, the Joint Degree Program (JDP) Awarding Ceremony for the 2024 academic year was held to honor Mr. GOTO Shunta, Ms. SUGIHARA Saki, and Ms. HAYASHI Suzune. They completed the master's program in the "International Joint Department of Food Science and Technology between the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG, India) and Gifu University" as part of the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology at Gifu University.
Gifu University, IITG, and the National University of Malaysia (UKM, Malaysia) jointly launched four¹⁾ international joint degree programs for master's and PhD students in April 2019. These three students are the fifth graduate cohort since the program's inception.
Professor NISHIZU Takahisa, Vice Dean of the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology, presented Mr. Goto and Ms. Sugihara with the Dean's Award and the Alumni Association President's Award, respectively, in recognition of their academic excellence. This was followed by the presentation of the Certificate of Completion by Professor EBIHARA Akio, Chair of the master's program, to three students.
Professor Ebihara praised their unwavering determination and consistent efforts in completing their research. He also expressed his best wishes for their future endeavors and great success in the next chapter of their lives.
