On Thursday, March 25, 2021, AY 2020 Degree-Awarding Ceremony of International Joint Master’s Degree Program (JMD program) between Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG, India) and Gifu University was held for the students who have completed their studies of International Joint Department of Food Science and Technology between Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati and Gifu University, the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology.
The ceremony was held in a face-to-face style at the 3rd Meeting Room of the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences building. The ceremony was delivered through online as well.
The JMD program is one of the four international Joint Degree Programs which were launched with IITG and the National University of Malaysia (UKM, Malaysia) in April, 2019.
In the ceremony, Professor Tohru Mitsunaga, Dean of the Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology handed out diplomas to four graduating students (they are the members of the 1st graduating class) while all participants including invited guests and students at the same laboratories at Gifu University and IITG were warmly watching them.
Next, congratulatory messages were read by President Hisataka Moriwaki, Dr. Fumiaki Suzuki, Gifu University Fellow (from Gifu University), and from IITG, Prof. Dr. T. G. Sitharam (Director), Prof. Sashindra K. Kakoty (Deputy Director), Prof. Chitralekha Mahanta (Dean of Academic Affairs), and Prof. Mihir Kumar Purkait (Dean of Alumni & External Relations) congratulated them on their great achievements. They all praised the students’ strenuous efforts and successful completion of JMD program.
