The Japan-India University Forum is an initiative organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Fiscal 2025 has been designated as the "Japan-India Year of Science and Technology Exchange" by the government, and various measures to strengthen bilateral cooperation have been discussed at the government level. As part of these efforts, the 4th Forum was held in India in November.

During the opening ceremony, following the welcome address by the President of JST, representatives from both countries expressed their hopes and expectations for further collaboration.

In the second session, Gifu University delegates participated in a roundtable discussion themed "For universities to promote India-Japan collaboration for developing human resources and enhancing the career-paths in collaboration with municipalities." Universities and institutions from both Japan and India gave presentations, reaffirming the importance of promoting human resource development, regional revitalization, and research collaboration in an integrated manner.

The third session featured individual meetings, where Gifu University delegates held discussions with the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). The talks covered a wide range of topics, including promotion of the ongoing Joint Degree Program (JDP) and the Inter-University Exchange Project by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).

JAPAN ACADEMIC DAY 2025 was held at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH), where many Japanese universities and research institutes, including Gifu University, highlighted their missions, initiatives, and academic activities at exhibition booths. At Gifu University booth, IITH students and postdoctoral researchers asked many questions about study-abroad programs and scholarship opportunities offered by the university.
