On Thursday, September 14, 2023, Dr. Yu Ping, a graduate of Gifu University, was honored by the Ambassador and Consul-General of Japan in Shanghai, H.E. AKAMATSU Shuichi at the Consulate-General of Japan in Shanghai, China.
As the Director of Gifu University Shanghai Office, Dr. Yu Ping's long-time contributions to the promotion of mutual understanding and forging the strong partnership between Japan and China were officially acknowledged by Ambassador Akamatsu.
In 2005, Gifu University established Gifu University Alumni Association in China, and in 2009, Gifu University Shanghai Office started its operations as a base to connect Gifu University and China. Since the start of office operation, Dr. Yu Ping has been actively promoting Gifu University for students in China by attending a number of study-abroad fairs held in China.
In accepting the honor, Dr. Yu Ping said, "I am happy that, as a Gifu University graduate, I was honored for my contributions to Gifu University and helped people in China to become interested in Gifu University. I will continue to do my best to strengthen our partnership and build strong economic cooperation as a 'bridge' between Japan and China."
Gifu University has multiple alumni associations overseas to promote friendship among members and to share information about Gifu University. We continue to work hard for the internationalization of Gifu University and maintain a strong relationship with Gifu University offices overseas and alumni associations to invite students to study at Gifu University in the future.
