In collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG, India), GU-GLOCAL offers a short-term outbound program called, "Spring School Program" every year for all Gifu University students. Gifu University and IITG jointly established the Joint Degree Program (JDP) in April 2019.
Ten GU students selected from 41 applicants attended the "4th Spring School Program" at IITG from Monday, March 3 to Saturday, March 15, 2025.
On Monday, March 3, the Spring School Program Opening Ceremony was held during the "Joint Degree Symposium 2025," which was co-hosted by Gifu University and IITG.
During the program, students had the opportunity to learn about the diverse Indian culture through visits to national parks and folk museums in Assam, as well as visits to centers promoting natural farming and biopesticide manufacturers. On campus, students attended workshops on the use of jute (corchorus) in the Department of Design and lab tours focusing on JDP-related departments at IITG. Despite the short two-week period, the program provided students a comprehensive learning experience about the society and culture of IITG and Northeast India. Students were also given the opportunity to mingle with local university students.
