Exchange Meeting between Winter School Program 2024 Students and Kano High School Students

The Gifu University Organization for Promotion of Glocalization (GU-GLOCAL) hosted the Winter School short-term inbound program from Thursday, December 5 to Friday, December 20, 2024.
In Winter School 2024, which marked eighth year since its launch, we welcomed six students from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG, India) and two students from the National University of Malaysia (UKM, Malaysia), both of which have a Joint Degree Program (JDP) with Gifu University.

As part of interaction event with Japanese students, GU-GLOCAL hosted an exchange meeting between IITG and UKM students and the students at Kano High School in Gifu City, on Thursday, December 19. The students at Kano High School are scheduled to visit UKM in January 2025, and this exchange meeting provided an opportunity for them to learn about UKM in advance and to foster friendship with international students.

In the first part of the meeting, Associate Director of GU-GLOCAL, Professor EBIHARA Akio explained about the missions and initiatives of GU-GLOCAL. This was followed by an introduction of UKM by UKM students studying at Gifu University. In the second part, students at Kano High School gave presentations in English and in the following group work, students came to learn more about each other.

For the Winter School students, it was also an excellent opportunity to interact with students from outside Gifu University.

We will continue to organize similar international exchange events to further promote regional collaboration in the future.
