Gifu University's "Education for Highly-Skilled Human Resources in Northeast India and Tokai Area based on Glocal JDP¹⁾ Platform" was adopted for "FY2022 Inter-University Exchange Project" of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan. Its major objective is to nurture highly skilled glocal (global + local) young talents by conferring "Joint-International Certificate²⁾" on them in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG)³⁾ with "JDP Consortium", which is industry-government-academia-banking institution partnership.

The following two kickoff meetings for the start of "Education for Highly-Skilled Human Resources in Northeast India and Tokai Area based on Glocal JDP Platform," were held from November 16 through November 23, 2022.

1. Online meeting with IITG
GU and IITG staff attended online meeting to discuss the details to launch a new platform, "Joint-International Certificate" by referring to the experiences and achievements that were made through our implementation of JDP.
Some GU staff also visited IITG, and attended this meeting in-person to facilitate smooth communications among participants.

2. Alagappa University (Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India)
GU staff visited the Department of Bioinformatics, the School of Biological Sciences as part of their mission to build a new partnership with academic institutions overseas.
At Alagappa University, GU staff held talks with their counterparts at the department, inspected research facilities, and discussed with the department head the possibilities of concluding a faculty-level agreement in the future. Visiting GU staff were also given an opportunity to make a research presentation at an international symposium hosted by Alagappa University.

In December, 2022, IITG staff are planning to visit GU to hammer out the details of "Joint-International Certificate." In March, 2023, JDP symposium is scheduled to open at IITG.
We are hoping that active exchange between the two universities can further accelerate collaboration among students and faculties, expansion of activities by "JDP Consortium" and successful implementation of "Education for Highly-Skilled Human Resources in Northeast India and Tokai Area based on Glocal JDP Platform."
