The Study Abroad Fair Spring 2026, organized by Gifu University Organization for Promotion of Glocalization (GU-GLOCAL) was held. This fair has been conducted annually since 2012 with the aim of providing information on the language proficiency required for studying abroad, introducing study abroad programs available at Gifu University, and promoting student participation in overseas study programs.
On the day of the fair, the program began with opening remarks by Professor KOYAMA Hiroyuki, GU-GLOCAL Executive Director, moderated by Professor TATSUMI Toru, Division Head of the Study Abroad Promotion Division of GU-GLOCAL.
First, staff from the Inbound and Outbound Student Affairs Office gave an overview of the university's study abroad programs and scholarship support systems. This was followed by presentations from ETS Japan and the Eiken Foundation of Japan, who explained the outlines of English proficiency tests (TOEFL and IELTS). After a short break of approximately 10 minutes, students who had studied abroad gave presentations based on their personal experiences. These included short-term study abroad programs lasting two weeks to one month (short-term training programs and faculty-based dispatch programs), as well as long-term programs lasting six months to one year (joint degree programs and exchange programs).
Through their experiences abroad, students shared how they had grown by developing a willingness to communicate without fear of making mistakes, learning the importance of taking initiative, and gaining greater awareness of diverse cultures and values.
Participants listened attentively to the explanations provided by the speakers and the first-hand accounts from students with study abroad experience. After the fair concluded, many participants asked individual questions, demonstrating a strong level of interest in studying abroad.
