"GU International Students’ Exchange with GU Japanese Students" was held

On June 22nd (Wed.) and 24th (Fri.) from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., we held an "GU International Students’ Exchange with GU Japanese Students."

A total of 25 people participated, including 13 Japanese students and 11 international students from China, India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Ghana, Kenya, and France. At the exchange meeting, participants spread out a large-sized map of Gifu City in the Japanese-style room of the Center for Japanese Language and Culture at Gifu University, and created their own map of Gifu City by writing information on recommended sightseeing spots, restaurants, shopping malls, public facilities, and so on.

While online exchange programs have continued to be held due to the spread of the new coronavirus, this time we were able to hold a face-to-face exchange meeting, paying attention to infection control measures. Participants who had just arrived in Japan said, "It was very enjoyable," "It was good to know more about Gifu City," and "It was good to meet not only Japanese students but also international students from other faculties." Japanese students also commented, "It was a valuable opportunity to communicate in English," and "It was good to learn about a different culture from Japan, such as Halal." The meeting was a meaningful time for each student.
