Faculty Members from IITG Visit Gifu University

From March 17 to 27, 2026, Gifu University welcomed eight faculty members from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG). This visit was made possible with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) under the "Inter-University Exchange Project" and was conducted for discussions on the establishment of new joint education programs. IITG is an important partner institution for Gifu University, which is actively promoting Joint Degree Programs (JDPs).

Courtesy visits to President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro were conducted in the Office of the President, with three IITG faculty members on March 18 and five on March 24. President Yoshida expressed his appreciation for the symposium held at IITG on March 9–10, which was attended by a total of 20 participants from Gifu University, including the President and faculty and staff members. The visiting IITG faculty members, in turn, shared their impressions of the campus and facilities at Gifu University and reported on the outcomes of the discussions held during their visit. In a friendly atmosphere, the participants exchanged views on future possibilities for collaboration between Gifu University and North Eastern Region (NER) of India.

Through this exchange, collaboration between faculty and staff at both universities is expected to deepen further, contributing to the advancement of various educational initiatives, including JDPs.
