On Monday, June 3, 2024, H.E. Mr. Teimuraz Lezhava, Ambassador of Georgia to Japan and Dr. David Goginashvili Embassy of Georgia in Japan's Specialist Analyst visited Gifu University.
Gifu University board members, including President YOSHIDA Kazuhiro, Vice President LIM Lee Wah, Executive Director KOYAMA Hiroyuki from the Gifu University Organization for Promotion of Glocalization (GU-GLOCAL), and Associate Professor MIKI Taro from the Organization for Promotion of Higher Education and Student Support (ORPHESS) welcomed the ambassador and Dr. Goginashvili at a luncheon meeting. While enjoying lunch, the board members provided an overview of Gifu University, including its core research centers and international initiatives to the ambassador and Dr. Goginashvili. The conversation also touched upon the relationship between Japan and Georgia, as well as the ambassador’s distinguished business career. Both the board members and the ambassador expressed interest in continuing discussions about future partnerships between Gifu University and Georgian universities.
After the meeting, the ambassador was invited to deliver a lecture on the topic of 'presentation skills' as part of Gifu University's campus-wide curriculum ('zenkyo'). By attending this lesson, Gifu University students gained insights into Georgia's unique culture and its people. The ambassador’s excellent presentation left an indelible impression on the students' minds.
We hope that the visit by H.E. Mr. Teimuraz Lezhava and Dr. David Goginashvili to Gifu University will pave the way for university partnerships between the two countries.
