On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, "Aigi Career Development Consortium for International Students: Gifu Region Workshop 2021" was held at Gifu University Common Education Lecture Hall (Gifu City).

This workshop is co-hosted by four organizations in Gifu Prefecture that participate in the Consortium (Gifu University, Gifu Prefecture, Gifu Employers' Association, and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Gifu Trade Information Center), and this year was the fourth time it was held.

In the first part of the two-part event, Mr. Nguyen Thi Diep of Yabashi Holdings Co., Ltd. gave a seminar on glocal human resource development, and Mr. Shen Xin, a former international student who has been employed by Pacific Industrial Co., Ltd., gave a video message.

In the second part of the workshop, the international students asked questions to the participating companies and engaged in exchanges. The international students had deepened their knowledge of the companies' philosophies and business activities in advance of the workshop, and exchanged questions and answers about the status of future overseas expansion, the status of in-house education systems, and the results of hiring foreign nationals.

Due to Corona Disaster, it was held on a small scale while paying attention to infection control. However, the international students who attended were highly satisfied with the workshop, saying that they were able to interact with a variety of companies through the face-to-face interaction, that it deepened their interest in the participating companies, and that it will be useful for their job hunting activities in the future. On the other hand, the participating companies commented that they were impressed by how hard they were talking to the companies and that they would like to have more time for interaction, which made the workshop meaningful.
