On Thursday, October 2, 2025, Gifu University welcomed five students from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) as part of the Glocal Expert Program (GEP¹).
The group consists of four students studying at the Graduate School of Engineering and one student studying at the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science. Over the next six months until March 2026, the students will engage in academic and research activities under the supervision of faculty members at Gifu University.
Through the GEP, each student will conduct research in their respective fields—disaster prevention and mitigation, sustainable technologies, and food distribution—while also participating in diverse learning experiences such as global issue analysis, corporate research, and overseas internships.
1) The Glocal Expert Program (GEP) is a graduate-level academic initiative jointly operated by Gifu University and IITG, which are currently implementing a Joint Degree Program (JDP). It is part of the Japanese government's Inter-University Exchange Project: Support for Creation of Inter-University Exchanges in the Indo-Pacific Region, and targets both master's and doctoral students. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive a joint certificate of completion issued by both Gifu University and IITG.
