Tokai National Higher Education and Research System (THERS) is currently implementing eleven international degree programs. Of them, Gifu University launched four international joint degree programs (JDP, master's and doctoral) in April 2019. To accelerate further development of JDP, we have been hosting "Gifu Joint Degree Symposium" every year since 2019.

The 4^th symposium "Gifu Joint Degree Symposium 2022" is scheduled under the theme of "Joint Degree Programs as a place for co-creation." The symposium has the following three sessions: "THERS JDP Symposium," "Academic Session" and "Industry-Government-Academia-Banking Institution Collaboration Session."

At the THERS JDP Symposium, in addition to lectures by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the participants will be given an opportunity to listen to their thoughts about international degree programs such as their current state of implementations and future prospects through discussions with university representatives. In the Industry-Government-Academia-Finance Collaboration Session, the themes of "Introduction to SDGs" and "Indian Business and Decarbonization" will be presented by speakers from various fields, and the possibility of regional revitalization centered on JDP through the introduction of activity examples and exchange of opinions.
