Local Community Engagement

The Center for Japanese Language and Culture aims to educate international students in Japanese language and culture and Japanese students in international understanding as well as offers a wide range of activities to contribute to the development of local communities.

1) Holding events for international students promoting internationalization of the university

The Center provides a venue for hosting and co-hosting various events to local citizens, including research presentations by Japanese Language and Culture Studies Course students in order to promote internationalization of local communities as well as promote cross-cultural ideas.

2) Promotion of partnership between international students and local communities

Students in the Japanese Language and Culture Studies Course and Japanese Society and Culture Program have participated in local community engagement such as Gujo City inbound tourism promotion and human development activities to strengthen partnership between international students and local communities since 2015. 3) Contribution to local communities by staff at the Center

Teaching staff of the Center actively contribute in promoting cultural and international activities in Gifu as members of municipalities and public service organizations (e.g. Gifu Multicultural Symbiotic Promotion Meeting and Gifu City International Exchange Association, etc).
