UNESCO Associated School

Promotion of UNESCO Associated School and support for schools in Gifu Prefecture

Gifu University became a member of UNESCO Associated Schools Project Network (ASPUnivNet) in 2011 and has helped to increase the number of UNESCO Associated Schools by partnering with Gifu prefectural and municipal boards of education, UNESCO associations, and other related organizations in Gifu.

UNESCO School aims to achieve the philosophies stated in the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) Charter through providing high-quality education to address global issues concerning human rights, democracy, international understanding, and the environment. The school is regarded as the base for Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) promotion.
